Background:
UNDP implementing a programme funded by the Islamic Development Bank – IDB- (Al Aqsa Fund) for the rehabilitation of deteriorated homes, in the East Jerusalem and the Old City. In this context, UNDP/PAPP- is seeking candidates to fill the position of one Project Manager for its Jerusalem Housing Project. The Project Manager will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Infrastructure and Engineering Unit and report to the Engineer/Program Analyst. The candidate is accountable for any assignment given by the head of the unit within his/her specialty in addition to the following functions below.
Description of Responsibilities:
 Functions / Key Results Expected :  The key functions that the project manager  is expected to perform include:
- Setting action plan(s) in accordance with  approved work plans and budget, as well as identifying problems and proposing strategies for addressing them.
- Preparation of forms and guidance documents needed for implementation.
- Conducting field research and surveys to ensure effective implementation of the project activities in a timely manner.
- Assisting in organizing the relationships with partners and stakeholders within the project scope of work including drafting agreements.
- Ensuring proper coordination with relevant institutions and organization working in housing and housing rehabilitation to avoid duplication and possible conflict of interests.
- Closely monitoring project implementation and preparing technical progress reports.
- Progress reports, when and as needed.
- Setting the bases of establishing autonomous unit. 
- Responsible of actively promoting the project aims and mission.
- Highlighting the social and development context of the project in the light of
UNDP and IDB aims and objectives.
          -   Setting up and maintaining project files for both hardcopy and softcopy archives,                        
             and establishing document control procedures.
-  Compiling, copying, uploading on ATLAS and distributing all project reports to concerned parties
-  Liaising with project staff for any requirements regarding projects (especially for arranging meetings, request documents, etc) and preparing reports when needed
-  Assisting in the monitoring of schedules and timetables , updating plans in cooperation with the Programme Analyst and requesting data for timely reporting
-  Maintaining and updating UNDP reporting schemes and matrices
-  Assisting in any other required programme support activity related to the Unit programme/projects
- Reviewing incoming operational and financial reports in terms of completeness and formal correctness in cooperation with the Programme Analyst.
 
 Impact of Results
Proper management of the project will positively reflect on the quality and implementation of the project, based on a client-oriented and efficient approach which will reflect on the impact of project and UNDP. The key results have an impact on the success of project within specific areas of cooperation. In particular, on achieving the success implementation of the project sub-component to reach all project goals and objectives.

Qualifications :
Education: Advance university degree in the field of Development, Engineering or .Social science,
Experience: Minimum 5 (five) years practical experience on projects of similar nature.

Language Requirements: fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.

Driving Licence Valid driving license.
