Under the overall guidance of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security and the direct supervision of the Chief Security Adviser, the incumbent will undertake the following key function:
- Create, develop and maintain ICT support at both the JSCO and GSCO & Ensure Information and Communications Technology in JSCO and GSCO are managed and coordinated as a single, centralized entity.
- Establish and maintain JSCO and GSCO ICT Policy and Identify training needs for personnel, and coordinate all ICT training opportunities
- Draft internal policies and SOPs, and review on a regular basis leading to how manage standardization of hardware and software throughout JSCO and GSCO.
- Manage ICT security/access & Conduct research in international IT system practices, and recommend actions, within the confines of the UNDSS and UNDP corporate ICT policies
- Working with the JSCO team in providing Safety and Security Assistance, advises, mission tracking, managing security clearances along with any other duties required at the 24/7 communication room.
· Enhancing and maintaining the highest possible standard of IT requirements for better performance of the department.
· As UNDSS has 3 offices in I/WB/G, different ICT polices are implies as working within UNRWA fields, this would later unify the 3 offices with same standards.
· As UNDSS deals with different variables regarding ICT issues, the staff member assist in determining the requirements based on the actual needs as per the UNDSS related duties.
· Having 2 centers on 24/7 in Jerusalem and Gaza, several staff members are using the same data, which needs to be secured, backed up, providing the level of access for information etc.., which the staff member would be able to identify based on SOP’’s drafted and practical work with UNDSS that has a different nature of information both security and cycle wise.
· Staff member would be assisting the JSCO – SOA’s being a part in Communication and crises center, would be considered an asset as the JSCO is manned 24/7.

Based on the key functions and results expected, the impact is expected to have better performance, better clients assistance in providing safety and security related needs, more management of time being a crucial factor in Safety and Security, maintaining databases of the UNDSS System in I/WB/G in a unified system for ease control, accurate and secured location/s based on IT bases. |

Education:
Completion of Secondary school – BA degree or certificate in Computer Science, Information Systems is an asset
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years
Language Requirements:
Fluency in both of English and Arabic languages, Hebrew would be considered an asset.
