Background:
Upon the Israeli cabinet decision to ease the blockade on the Gaza Strip and permit the construction materials to enter the Gaza Strip for the international organizations’ projects and to be controlled by these organizations, UNDP has rented a storage facility at Karni Industrial Area to be used for the construction materials of its construction projects in the Gaza Strip before sending these materials to the Project site. The UNDP will recruit a Driver to work at the warehouse at Karni Industrial Area and the UNDP Gaza Office will be the Duty Station of the incumbent who will be supervised by Storage Manager.
Description of Responsibilities:
·         Provide reliable and secure driving services to UNDP personnel to and from UNDP Gaza Offices, Commercial Crossing Points and Karni Industrial Area.
·         Escort the construction materials and other equipment that enter the Gaza Strip as requested by the National Access Coordinator.
·         Proper use of vehicle.
·         Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle
·         Keep the vehicle usage and fuel consumption records, and report on daily basis to the UNDP Gaza Office Administrative Assistant.
·         Perform other duties as required.

The key results of the post strengthen UNDP/PAPP’s contribution to the Access Coordination efforts in Gaza.

Competencies :
·         Very good communication skills.
·         Safe driving record.
·         Excellent physical and mental health conditions.

Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.

Qualifications :
Education
·         Secondary education certificate.
·         Valid Taxi / Bus driving license.
 
Experience
3 years’ work experience as a driver. Safe driving record. Experience with an international organization is an asset.
Language Requirements
Fluency in the Arabic Language and very good knowledge of the English Language.
