Background:
Upon the Israeli cabinet decision to ease the blockade on the Gaza Strip and permit the construction materials to enter the Gaza Strip for the international organizations’ projects and to be controlled by these organizations, UNDP has rented a storage facility at Karni Industrial Area to be used for the construction materials of its construction projects in the Gaza Strip before sending these materials to the Project site. The Duty Station of the Access Coordination Assistant will be UNDP Gaza Office, and the work place will be Karni Crossing, while the incumbent will be reporting to the UNDP National Access Coordinator
Description of Responsibilities:
·         Provide support to the National Access Coordinator at the Palestinian side if the Crossing Points on the borders between Gaza Strip and Israel.
·         Coordinate with Project Engineers on the materials checking and handling progress, and the materials transport to the project sites.
·         Escort the construction materials entering the Gaza Strip until their arrival to the Project sites or storage facility.
·         Verify that the loaded materials on the trucks are matching the materials entered the crossing points and double check the supporting documents of all shipment.
·         Communicate with the private contractors on materials shipments entering the Gaza Strip for the use of UNDP implemented projects.
·         Contact the Security Guards Supervisors and the Storage Manager on the materials to be transferred from the crossing point to the storage facility.
·         Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications :
Education
A High School diploma, BA in Business administration, management, or other relevant field is an asset.
 
·         Experience At least 3 years of progressive experience including at least two years in the field of shipping, distribution management, store management, or operations.
·         Excellent computer use (Word, Excel and Access).
·         Valid driving license.
Language Requirements
Fluency in both of the English and Arabic languages both spoken and written. Good knowledge of Hebrew is an asset.
