Under the guidance and supervision of the Director General of the Government Media Center, the Media Communication Officer will undertake the following tasks:
· Prepare articles, press releases and information points for website and social media;
· Identify and establish contacts with civil society organisations such as youth groups, women’s groups, religious leaders, local groups to receive information and provide information on the Palestinian National Authority;
· Identify interest points for various population groups within the country and establish links with them as part of perception management;
· Establish and update media contact list;
· Establish database of photos of events, activities, and actions undertaken by the PNA;
· Develop understanding of PNA agenda, planning process, agencies and functions and establish contacts with key personnel within ministries to co-ordinate activities;
· Attend press conferences and field visits to PNA activities and write up articles for use in press;
· Assist in setting up radio and television programmes for ministries;
· Co-ordinate activities with media units and PNA agencies;
· Contribute to activities of the GMC as required;
· Submit the monthly UNV reports, as per the UNV guidelines; |
