Background: |
Under the guidance and supervision of the Finance Analyst, supports the provision of financial services in ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work. The Finance Clerk promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.
The Finance Clerk works in close collaboration with the Management Support and Business Development, Programme and Operations staff in the country office and with UNDP HQ staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery. |
Description of Responsibilities: |
-
Proper control of the supporting documents for payments and financial reports ; preparation of all types of vouchers for projects and on-behalf of UNOPS-(Inter peace/Israeli) and non-Atlas Agencies; PO vouchers; Pay Cycle and payment execution.

Maintenance of the internal expenditures control system which ensures that vouchers processed are matched and completed, transactions are correctly recorded and posted in Atlas.

Management of cash receipts in Atlas.

Maintenance of the proper filing system for finance records and documents

Timely and accurate preparation of bank reconciliation for Arab bank accounts (5 accounts).

Initiation of bank transfers and deals in Atlas, and Preparation of routine correspondence, faxes, memoranda and reports accordance with CO SOP.

Safe Custodian- distributing checks to the suppliers.

Qualifications : |
Education:
● Secondary education. Specialized training in finance desirable
Experience:
2 to 3 years of relevant accounting and financial experience at nationallevel is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
Language requirements:
Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station.
