Background:
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is looking for a candidate for National Deputy Project Manager
Description of Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the FAO Senior Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordinator in West Bank and Gaza Strip (WBGS), and under the direct supervision the Deputy Emergency and Rehabilitation Coordinator, the National Deputy Project Manager will have the responsibility for project implementation. The main duties of the Deputy Project Manager will be:
-          Assist the International Project Coordinator for an efficient and quality project implementation and coordinate the field implementation teams at district level;
-          Assist in the preparation of the detailed work plans, and in the supervision/monitoring of their implementation;
-          Identify, help, select and supervise the work of the local partners involved in project implementation (such as local NGOs and CBOs);
-          Prepare the technical specifications for the goods, items and services to be procured under the project;
-          Identify and evaluate the capacity and quality of work of potential local suppliers of technical goods and services;
-          Liaise with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) to ensure that project interventions are consistent with the on-going programmes of the Ministry;
-          Participate in data collection on agricultural humanitarian monitoring;
-          Take the lead in aggregating the monitoring reports from the different activities of the project and implementation partners;
-          Performs other duties as and when required.

Qualifications :
Education:       University degree relevant to the project (i.e. agriculture, water and environment sciences, or closely related fields);
 
Experience:     At least 3 years of relevant experience in management and implementation of emergency and rehabilitation projects. Proven experience and strong capacity in leading a team and managing a complex project; and proven experience in dealing and liaising with PA, UN, donors and nongovernmental national and international organizations.
Languages:      Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
