Background:
The Police Support Programme is a Palestinian Police-led initiative supported by the EU Police Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support (EUPOL COPPS) , the PA Ministry of Interior and is implemented by the United Nations Office of Project Services (UNOPS). Its central decision making and project approval mechanism is the Programme Steering Committee (PSC) chaired by the Ministry of Interior and attended by the PCP Police Commissioner, the Ministry of Finance and a Donor Representative.
 
The initiatives agreed in the PSC are implemented by UNOPS with supervision from the PCP department heads.  UNOPS has established a Programme Management Office to manage the day to day delivery of projects.
 
The Project Gardner will report directly to the UNOPS Office Clerk. The project Gardner provides gardening and guarding services.
 
 
 
 
 
Description of Responsibilities:
The Project Gardner reports to the Office Clerk and carries out the following:
  • Responsible for planting and timely watering of the greenery in the office;
  • Performs cleaning functions as required, including washing, sweeping, dusting, vacuum-cleaning and polishing.
  • Cleans surfaces, including floors, furniture, wall, doors, windows, carpets, etc.
  • Keeps premises, corridors, office rooms, kitchen, office premises facilities and toilets clean and hygienic;
  • Maintains and cleans all cleaning equipment utilized;
  • Patrols and maintains security of the office premises and grounds, and reports any irregularities to Deputy Project Manager;
  • Responds to emergencies affecting the safety of the premises and notifies supervisor and emergency services, immediately undertakes all appropriate actions to respond to emergency;
  • Respond to all types of emergencies, including fires, security and injuries.
  • Conduct vehicle and personal searches when tasked.
  • Training in First Aid, Security and Fire fighting will be undertaken by UNOPS.
  • Performs other duties and functions when requested by supervisor.
Competencies :
General competencies:
 
          Communications – Written and verbal communication skills.
          Technology awareness – Basic computer skills. Knowledge of photocopying machines
          Teamwork – Interpersonal skill and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural environment.
          Ability to work long hours and Night shifts as required.
          Residents of Jericho preffered.
 
 
 
 
Qualifications :
a. Education
·         Secondary Education is desirable. 
 
b. Work Experience  
·         0-4 years of relevant working experience.
 
c. Languages 
·         Fluency in Arabic, English is desirable.
