Background:
The EJH network comprises six non-profit charity institutions (Augusta Victoria Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, St. John Eye Hospital, Palestinian Red Crescent Maternity Hospital, Princess Amira Basma Rehabilitation Center and Makassed Hospital). The East Jerusalem Hospitals Network (EJHN) was established in 1997 to promote collaboration and complementarity among EJ hospitals. The World Health Organization (WHO) supports the EJHN to strengthen the network and to institutionalize its function through a number of activities most recently on capacity building of its workforce.
Description of Responsibilities:

Tasks and Responsibilities

The coordinator will report to the secretary of the Board of Directors and WHO Health System Officer.
Under the overall guidance of the secretary of the Board of Directors and direct supervision of WHO Health System Officer, the Coordinator for the Network will provide technical and administrative support to the network. She / he will assist the Board members in implementing the network strategy and support in promoting the common goal of all hospitals of the Network; 
- Areas of work include but are not limited to:
- Serve as an executive arm for the EJHN;
- Facilitate and monitor implementation of network’s joint programs and provide regular feed-back on progress and challenges to the Board and WHO;
- Support implementation the network strategy and work plan including regular reporting according to the work plan and its indicators;
- Advocacy for funding, including development of a fundraising plan;
-  Summarizing, documenting, and keeping records of Network’s various activities; 
- Coordinate the organization of EJHN conferences as necessary;
- Coordinate on-going training and capacity building activities for the EJHN;
- Liaise with funding partners, community, and other relevant stakeholders;
- Prepare public relations and community outreach tools such as a network website and newsletter, and regular interventions in local print and televised media as part of visibility and promotion;
- Prepare and call for meetings as directed by the Chair;

Qualifications :

Functional skills and knowledge:
• Knowledge of the national health system structure and functioning; ability to rapidly access related information and to interpret critical issues.
• Experience in non-communicable diseases programs preferred.
• Experience in electronic health records is an asset.
• Excellent organizational, management, analytical and interpersonal skills.

Education:
• University degree in a management or related field;


Experience:
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in mid-level management preferably with knowledge of the health sector in East Jerusalem;
• Demonstrable experience in advocacy, fund raising, international and public relations, and project coordination duties;
• Previous work experience with UN agencies or NGOs is an asset.

Other:
• Competence in use of basic statistical software an asset
• Fluency in Arabic and English, verbal and written; knowledge of Hebrew is preferred;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

 


Duty station is Jerusalem. LICA/ UNOPS contract for 12 months with possibility of extension.
